About

My name is Jackie Guerra.  I am 69 years old –  a wife, mom of two, stepmom of two, grandmother of nine,  and (soon-to-be-retired) general contractor (a business I own with my husband).  I was also caretaker for my mother until she passed away at the age of 96 in March of 2020.  I am blessed to be really involved with my grandkids’ lives and to be a part of their dreams and aspirations.  To describe my life as overwhelming at times would be a huge understatement.  It is chaotic and messy… and quite amazing! God has truly blessed me in so many ways and I am grateful for the full life I lead.

I also have an amazing network of friends that inspire me and contribute to living a full life.  They are my strength and often my escape!  There’s nothing like an evening of sipping wine and laughing from the gut to recharge, ignite and renew energy.

I learned a few years ago about the importance of taking time to reconnect with myself.  It was a realization I had after returning from one of my trips with my girlfriends (something we’ve been doing every 2 years since 1999).   I realized that during that trip I was able to strip off all of my many “labels” and reconnect with Jackie (a girl I used to know).  I also realized that there are a lot of women out there that need this same opportunity.  A Time to Breathe was born from this realization.  My mission ever since has been to create a place that inspires women to do just that and to help make it happen!

The pandemic got in the way of my plans for this bringing this to life in 2020.  Then  I had planned to relaunch this vision in 2023 our last girls trip, but life happened.  My husband had a stroke and I had to come back home. Funny how life challenges force us to take a harder look around us.  The inspiration kept coming in — if not now, when?  And what I learned is that NOW is time to renew this commitment.  I hope I can help to make some magic in this world!  So here we go….

A Time to Breathe is about living an inspired and exciting life with the people we love.  While my favorite topics are traveling with girlfriends for the ultimate breath, I also embrace the opportunity to create amazing memories with family, especially my tribe of grandkids.  And I hope that I help inspire them with some of their dreams along the way!

Great memories provide a constant reminder of what is important and are a wonderful way to ignite gratitude in the middle of day-to-day chaos.  A Time to Breathe is about seizing the day, every day!
